Discovery Child Care (DCC) administrators, teachers and staff, are so excited to welcome your child into our curriculum and educational environment. We understand every child develops differently and at different times. With this, we are constantly enhancing the learning environment with new, refreshing, and balanced curriculum.

We understand children grow and need the opportunity to Discover who they are and what they like - At Discovery we create the space for them to develop real life skills through real life experiences. Your child’s success comes with successful partnership, input and feedback with you, the parent or guardian. Together we will work together to build a program focused on growth, exploration and reflection. Our mission is to inspire children to love learning and themselves more.
Our facility has been inspected by a state licensor and meets the minimum licensing requirements as required by Washington State law.

Child Safety

DCC’s emergency preparedness includes developmentally appropriate training with the children on how to respond in an emergency such as calling 911 and when it is appropriate to evacuate WAC 110-300-0470(1)(c).
If there is natural or unnatural disaster, DCC has equipped the facility with enough food and water to last for required number of days. DCC will have multiple cell phones if the phones work, administrators and staff will attempt to reach each parent or guardian throughout the disaster, and when it is safe. DCC has enough clothes and bedding to last for required number of days.

Our emergency preparedness plan is extensive and parents receive the full plan upon enrolling in our program!

All DCC staff are trained – DCC will maintain the State required staff to child ratios at all times. For consistency of care administrators or a permanent staff member will be assigned to care for your child with a goal of building a long-term trusting relationship.
Any Staff who covers for administrators or staff in the event of absence, will meet all State requirements to care for the children, and be fully trained according to State requirements and will be trained on the policies and procedures of our program. You may ask for access to our staff training and professional development records.
If we have any staffing changes, or administrators, staff or teachers need to be absent for an extended period of time, you will be notified in writing or electronically.
Our staff to child ratios are 1-6 and we offer mixed aged group type of classroom settings.
